For the fifth in a row, Real Madrid will face Manchester City in the knockout phase of the UEFA Champions League after the two clubs were paired together once again in the round of 16 of this season’s competition.
The draw for the last 16 fixtures of the 2025/26 Champions League were conducted at UEFA Headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, on Friday, with representatives of clubs still in the tournament present.
In the other matches, defending champions Paris Saint-Germain will face two-time winners Chelsea in the round of 16, while Arsenal will tackle Bayer Leverkusen for a place in the quarterfinals as the Gunners continue their push for their first-ever Champions League title.
Having beaten heavyweights, including Man City, Atletico Madrid, and Inter (twice) in this season’s competition, Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt will hope to maintain the momentum when they face Sporting Lisbon in their last 16 tie.
Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen’s Galatasaray will face Liverpool in the round; Ademola Lookman’s Atletico Madrid are up against Tottenham; Barcelona will face Newcastle United; while Atalanta take on Bayern Munich.
The first-leg round of 16 matches will take place on March 10 and 11, 2026, while the second-leg ties are scheduled for one week later, on March 17 and 18.
