Canadian singer Justin Bieber performed on one of music’s biggest stages on Saturday, headlining the 2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival with Nigerian artistes Ayodeji Balogun a.k.a Wizkid and Temilade Openiyi otherwise called Tems joining him on stage.
The artiste opened his performance with songs from his 2025 “SWAG” album before taking the audience into a nostalgic journey.
Remembering the beginning of his career, he told the crowd, “I feel like we gotta take you guys on a journey.”
He started playing old YouTube videos on the screen of him as a teenager as he sang along to his early hits including “Baby” and his childhood cover of Chris Brown’s song “With You.”
At a point, he said it had “been a dream” of his to perform at Coachella as a headliner.
The 32-year-old artiste also took time to sit and casually chat with the crowd, playing funny viral clips of himself, including the fan-favourite “it’s not clocking to you.”
Later in the set, Tems first joined Justin for a performance of their song “I Think You’re Special,” before Wizkid joined for a live version of Justin’s remix of Essence, the Grammy-nominated hit by Wizkid and Tems.
Coachella, held annually at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, is one of the world’s most celebrated music and arts festivals, known for bringing together global superstars, surprise guest appearances and performances across two weekends.
The 2026 edition runs from April 10 to 12 and April 17 to 19.
The performance comes after Justin’s health issues in 2022.
At the time, the singer said he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that caused temporary facial paralysis on one side of his face making him to cancel his plans for a world tour in 2023.
In a video shared at the time, he showed fans how the affected side remained unblinking and explained that while he desperately wanted to keep performing, his body was telling him to “slow down.”
The artiste released his first album “SWAG” in 2025 after the paralysis and got a Grammy nomination for the album, while performing his song “Yukon” at the award ceremony.
